We looked at a property which Hilary had developed and were so impressed with the quality of the work and the design that we asked her to project manage the conversion of a former care home, now derelict, which we had bought as our family home. 
Hilary totally guided us through the entire process, from engaging architects and engineers, to working with us on design and layout, to advising us on the tender process and appointing a contractor.
 Very hands on, Hilary is an on-site presence and knows everything that is going on, decisions can be made easily with her advice and she certainly helps to advise on costs. 
Incredibly knowledgeable about the build she is also brilliant at design and helped us with kitchen and bathrooms, joinery, lighting, tiling and floor finishes, producing sample after sample for us to look at and taking us to countless showrooms to look at materials. 
Even when it came to the final stages, Hilary helped us with furnishings, many of which we had made, she has a huge number of great contacts and contractors who have worked with her for years, this is all invaluable and something we simply would not have had access to without her. 
We love our house and have recommended Hilary to several friends who were embarking on projects in their homes, it was a great experience working with Hilary and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

I was living in a 1970s time warp and was frankly loathing the idea of refurbishing and remodelling my house from top to bottom. So much so, I had put off starting the project for some time. I had seen the work that Hilary had carried out on another project in Totteridge and instructed Hilary to act as my project manager but she did so much more than that. Put simply, she made the experience pain free- enjoyable even! Hilary introduced me to an architect, managed the planning process, assisted with drawing up the specification of works, engaging with the other contractors and dealing with steps needed prior to works getting underway. Once the works started, Hilary was on site daily liaising with the building team to ensure everything ran smoothly and so avoiding the need for me to spend precious time doing so. In addition though to managing the project, builders and day to day issues that arose, Hilary helped in the design of my kitchen- introducing me to the kitchen company, my bathrooms and floor finishings - again introducing me to suppliers who were more cost effective than I had bargained for. Hilary also gave me a multitude of ideas about lighting, colour schemes, finishings and furnishings- in short making my life easy and pain free - such that I didn’t even have to go a dreaded paint or tile shop. Instead, Hilary provided loads of paint/tile samples from which I picked. If anyone had told me before I started that this refurbishment would have been easy and hassle free I would never have believed them but it was. Hilary made that happen and in the bargain I also have a house which is just fabulous. If you are looking for someone to help manage a building project then look no further than Hilary.

We worked very closely with Hilary on a development in Totteridge. This was a very challenging refurbishment of a grade II listed building and its adjacent grounds. The existing properties were completely stripped so the building was back to its shell. The architect had designed all the layouts and structural works but had a limited role once the project was on site. Hilary took the lead on the management side and ended up driving forward all aspects of the project to ensure the project was delivered on time and on budget.

 Hilary spent a lot of time on site and was always at hand when it mattered. Her proactive and direct approach meant it was always easier to find a solution when any issues arose. There were no interiors selected at the outset and the client instructed Hilary to design and select all the interiors. Hilary has great eye for detail and has done a fantastic job on the finishing, especially with some really challenging spaces.

 She takes a methodical and dedicated approach to work which means you always get her full attention. Our relationship with Hilary was professional yet friendly at all times. She is a real pleasure to work with and if any future projects came along we would not hesitate to work with her again.

Hilary performed the role of Project Manager for the complete restoration of our house in 2012. This involved assistance with the selection of the architect and principal contractors, help in working with the architect to create the final layout, the day to day project management of the builders and other trades, the design of the kitchen and joinery throughout the house, and advice around colour schemes and furnishing. This happened over the period of about 18 months and at all times Hilary was dedicated to the project and exhibited tremendous enthusiasm, energy, attention to detail, and good taste.
